Bolgatanga Senior High School is a public, co-educational high school located in Winkongo, a town about 8km south of Bolgatanga, in the Upper East Region of Ghana. The school is within the Talensi-Nabdam District

MISSION

To train and equip the Ghanaian youth with the requisite academic know-how, ideas and skills in a congenial atmosphere to guarantee continuous supply of quality human resource needs of the country.

VISION

• To achieve high academic excellence especially in the Science and humanities.
• To turn out patriotic and resourceful individuals who would exhibit moral and spiritual uprightness.
• To equip the individual with information communication technology to be able to face current global trends of human development;
• To provide avenues for the holistic development of the individual the group and the society.

BRIEF HISTORY

The school was established in 1970, precisely on 15 October 1970 with 75 students in Zuarungu on the same campus presently occupied by Zuarungu Senior High School, with Mr. Bayala C.J. Yibrul as its first Headmaster. The number of staff then was eleven in total: three professional teachers and eight supporting staff.
